1. Overview and scope
This Privacy Policy explains how the Grantsville Sociable 1884 Android app and its companion website handle information. The service is published by GRANTSVILLE SOCIABLE INC., a nonprofit organization. It is not a government service and is not affiliated with Grantsville City or any government agency.
2. Information we do not collect
The app does not require or create an account. We do not collect names, profile data, precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, payment information, or background sensor data. The app contains no advertising, behavioral tracking, or analytics SDK.
3. Information stored on your device
Favorites, checklist choices, language preferences, keepsake notes, and other personal planning selections are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us. Anyone with access to your unlocked device or device backups may be able to access that local information, depending on your device settings.
4. Read-only network requests
The app may make a read-only HTTPS request to our public event data endpoint to check for confirmed schedule updates. It does not send your notes, favorites, checklist, location, or identity in that request. As with standard internet traffic, hosting infrastructure may process technical data such as IP address, request time, user agent, and requested URL to deliver and protect the service. We do not use those requests to build user profiles.
5. External actions and third-party apps
When you choose an email, telephone, map, website, or add-to-calendar action, Android opens a compatible external app or service. The Sociable app does not perform the communication itself. Information you choose to provide to that third party is governed by its terms and privacy policy. Review the destination before sending or saving anything.
6. Contacting us by email or phone
Contact links open your device’s email or phone app. We receive only what you deliberately send or say, such as your email address, telephone number, message, and any attachments you choose. We use it to respond and manage the inquiry. The app and website do not contain a submission form, chat system, or contact database.
7. Children’s privacy
The app is a general-audience community guide and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Children can browse public material without an account. Keepsake notes remain on the device. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent information to us by email should contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
8. Sharing, sale, and advertising
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising. We do not operate an ad network or data-broker relationship. Information deliberately sent to us may be shared only with service providers or advisers when reasonably necessary to respond, secure operations, meet legal obligations, or protect rights.
9. Retention
Local app information remains on your device until you clear it, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app; device backups may follow your platform settings. Email or telephone records are retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain appropriate nonprofit records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Routine infrastructure logs, if created by the hosting provider, follow that provider’s operational and security retention practices.
10. Security
The public update request uses HTTPS, and the app is designed to keep personal planning content local. The website uses restrictive browser security policies. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so avoid placing highly sensitive information in keepsake notes or messages. Keep your device updated and protected with a screen lock.
11. Your choices and controls
You may use the app offline with its included content, decline to open any external action, edit or remove local notes and favorites, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. You control whether your email, phone, map, and calendar apps receive information. Device permissions and backups are managed in Android and account settings.
12. Deletion requests
Delete local app information from within the app where a delete control is available, through Android’s “Clear storage” setting, or by uninstalling. Because there is no account and local content is not uploaded, we normally have no server-side app profile to delete. To request deletion of information you deliberately sent by email, contact MannKarissavipnxw8@gmail.com and describe the communication well enough for us to locate it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy when the app, event update service, legal requirements, or our practices change. We will post the updated version at this same URL and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes apply prospectively unless law requires otherwise. Last updated: July 17, 2026.
14. Contact and organization details
Privacy questions may be sent to MannKarissavipnxw8@gmail.com or discussed by phone at +1 828-567-2800.
